1.2083 stainless tool steel is ideally suited for plastic moulds, for acid aggressive plastics,PVC or acetates, and can be used with plastics containing abrasive fillers. It also is suitable to produce components for mediacal and optical applications.

Grade 1.2083/420/S136 die steel is the German brand Rooster special steel, plastic mould steel, the steel is stainless steel with high Cr content, containing more than 15% of Cr, has excellent abrasion resistance, acid proof and good polishing performance, good workability. After quenching, it is more wearable, suitable for electrical etching, suitable for acidic plastics and moulds requiring good polishing.
